Sick and tired of digging at the bottom of the Doritos bag when what you really want to do was go for a walk? Well, good news sister there’s nothing wrong with you!

You just need to learn these 3 steps so you can stop self sabotaging!

It’s proven, that self-care success (or any success for that matter) is more about your mindset than having healthy food on hand, or strapping on your tennis shoes.

Our minds are wired to keep us stuck. Trying to force ourselves to change (with things like willpower) is a pointless battle.

You must work on the subconscious, AKA “Helga for lasting change.

Now, mind you, your subconscious doesn’t have it out for you. It doesn’t WANT you to struggle as you’re trying to create a more fulfilling, healthier life.

It’s trying to make things easier on ya, but we’ve gotta “wire” it correctly. (I show you exactly how to do that, keep reading.)

This mechanism exists so we don’t have to re-learn things on a daily basis. How much would it suck to learn how to drive your car every morning before work?

Or having to whip out the user manual every time we want to make a phone call? Gah. Talk about time-consuming.

You see, it’s a function to help make our lives easier… But it kind of backfires when we’re trying to change unhealthy habits.

Let Dr. Joe Dispenza author of, Breaking The Habit of Being Yourself explain:

“Every day, as you see the same people (your boss, for example, and your spouse and kids), do the same things (drive to work, perform your daily tasks, and do the same workout), go to the same places (your favorite coffee shop, the grocery store you frequent, and your place of employment), and look at the same objects (your car, your house, your toothbrush … even your own body), your familiar memories related to your known world “re-mind” you to reproduce the same experiences.

…You repeatedly reproduce the same in reference to the outer world. Your identity becomes defined by everything outside of you because you identify with all the elements that make up your external world. You are essentially creating more of the same every day.”

You see, your mind is wired to feel the same feelings, think the same things, and taking the same actions (or inactions) as the day before, leaving us STUCK.

We’re wired to do the same things over and over. So, self sabotaging happens automatically.

If you want lasting success, you must work on the mind and start “re-wiring” it, so you can start making healthier decisions.

Okay, so how do I “re-wire” my mind?

Glad you asked. There are a few things you can do right now:

#1 – Mix things up, sister.

Many aspects of this Wildly Alive community is about getting out of the same’ol, same’ol and *trying something new* to create lasting change. The reason why you’re running to the junk food is because YOU. ARE. BOARD!

It’s time for some major belly butterfly action!

This could be going to that meetup group to find some kickass women to hang with, taking an aerial yoga or poldancing class or even taking your bike to work instead of driving.

The key is to change some of your day-to-day routines. Because remember, you’re wired to feel more of the same during those activities so switching it up is key to feeling different, resulting in different choices.

# 2 – Close your eyes and imagine a life one level higher.

A great way to stop sabotaging yourself is to dream bigger than your current reality. No, not dreaming about having the tightest, fittest body, most perfect body because… A: That’s gross, we don’t strive for that here at Wildly Alive and B: It’s just not realistic! Start small.

What about visulizing what a nourishing morning routine would feel like? Or imagine yourself looking in the mirror and feeling PROUD of yourself. Or drop into the feelings you would feel if  you were ontop of a moutian you’ve always thought about hiking. That feeling if complete appolishment because you just did something you never thought you actually could.

Feel all those feels as you visualize about a ‘leveled up life

When I do this I don’t get snagged on “the how.” I just have fun playing around in that possibility. I also don’t get all caught up in a timeline or create any expectations!

What little steps upwards feel good to you to think about? Feel it then keep reaching for more good feelings!

#3 – Start having more flippin’ fun!

If you want to create some serious change in your life then stop being so damn stuffy and let loose baby.

Look, I know how easy it is to get lost in your to-do list, I teach this stuff because I NEED this myself.

Somethings that help me get out of my head and into the joy of life is:

  • Call up a girlfriend who makes me laugh.
  • Follow a guided meditation.
  • Go on a nature walk.
  • Journal about the all the things I appreciate about my life.
  • Watch cute animal videos online (this alllways makes me feel so warm and fuzzy).
  • Have a good cry.
  • Go to dinner with a soul sister and get lost in deep conversations.
  • Turning on my fav song and dancing around my livingroom like a crazy lady.

What makes YOU feel joy?

Okay, if you are ready to stop self sabotaging write these three things steps down so you can stop shooting yourself in the foot and create the change you deserve.

Re-wire baby,
Nichole
